On Monday October 6th, 2023, we spent our class time at the Two Rivers Art Gallery. It was a very cool experience, as they are normally closed to the public on Mondays but we were given a private tour! Very cool. We began the tour by individually experiencing the art on display. We then gathered and had a group reflection on several of the art pieces. We examined the art in a few different ways and were asked to sit with a specific piece for approximately ten minutes. As a class we were then encouraged to share our thoughts and feelings that we might have had about the art. We ended the day by creating a play dough sculpture that represented aspects of nature. Mine was a representation of pine cones and leatherleaf. Below is a picture of my favourite piece on display, it is titled Dismantled Worlds by Jude Gabriel, and it used carved wood, bio-resin, air-drying clays, and acrylic.
